Grand Reveal! This past week our Awards team prepared the nomination for one of our mentors for the Woodie Flowers Award. This year we are excited to announce that we have nominated Mrs. Allen for this prestigious award! @first_official_ @the_ignite_institute @weareboonecounty

This week programming was able to fix the practice bot and today drive team is practicing driving! The field is completely built and impact has been working hard to finish the short answers and essay! @first_official_ @the_ignite_institute @weareboonecounty

With June finally here, PiBotics is officially back for the off-season; and, with our new drive strategies and technical training in progress, we're working to perform better than ever at our upcoming event! @weareboonecounty @the_ignite_institute @first_official_

Today is nearly over and even though we didn’t make finals, we’re coming home with some awards. We won both the Imagery Award and the Safety All-Star Award. Qualification matches are over for the team, now we're waiting to see how alliance selection turns out. We're so proud of our performance in the qualification matches. Good job to everyone on the team up to this point! @weareboonecounty @the_ignite_institute @first_official_

Its the second day of qualifier matches and we've started the day off with a win! Unfortunately our second match ended with a heartbreaking loss by one point, but we aren't discouraged. This is only the beginning for the pibots! @weareboonecounty @the_ignite_institute @first_official_

This evening, our Impact team and Dean's List nominees began presenting for their respective awards. Their progress really is outstanding, and we're all rooting for them through tomorrow's award ceremony! @weareboonecounty @the_ignite_institute @first_official_

The team has been very busy today with everything from future matches to the Impact award, but were especially busy in the pits. With the robot coming in and out, and judges wanting to learn about PiBotics the pits are a hotspot! @weareboonecounty @the_ignite_institute @first_official_

It's finally qualification day at Miami Valley! We have 7 matches scheduled today, and we've already won one. We're really hoping to win this one and do even better than we did last time. @weareboonecounty @the_ignite_institute @first_official_

About Us

ABOUT OUR TEAM

We are an FRC Team based out of Ignite Institute, a STEM school located in Erlanger, Kentucky. PiBotics has been together since 2011. Team 3814 started as the Ryle Raider Robotics team, but in 2013 we grew to a district-wide team open to high school students across Boone County Public Schools.

ABOUT FIRST

FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989 as a nonprofit organization. FIRST aims to develop an appreciation and interest for STEM among students while also supporting soft skills needed in the modern world. FIRST has several programs for 500,000+ students grade K-12 worldwide (Jr. FLL, FLL, FTC, FRC). For more information, visit FIRSTInspires.org

ABOUT THE SEASON

Teams from all around gather to compete in a fun and academic environment. Under strict rules, limited resources, and an intense two month time limit, teams are challenged to build and program industrial-sized robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Team members also raise funds, design a team “brand,” and hone in teamwork skills.
